Choice, the Footfalls and the Sun

The sun is too bright

The footfalls too loud

Food tastes overly exuberant

Humans are daft

I tend to sound crass

Existence is romanticised

Forever is bleak

Fun is compulsive

But only at it's peak

The sun is too bright

The footfalls too loud

I could, pull the drapes

Change the chef

Or close the door

I do have the choice

A concept with undue heed

It's hardly justified

The sun is too bright

The footfalls too loud

"It is time to be drunk! So as not to be the martyred slaves of time, be drunk, be continually drunk! On wine, on poetry or on virtue as you wish."
~Charles Baudelaire
